The stacked up E-wastes accumulating in our country beating the top countries. Now we are in a situation that one side manufacturing these E-Gadgets in large scale, on other side there is no scientific way to annihilate this E- garbage.

According to survey recently done by Asocharm & NEC combined INDIA stood abreast to China America, Japan & Germany in manufacturing E-wastes.

What are E-wastes?

Timed out computers, their spare parts, spare parts of telecommunications, spare parts of electrical, medical instruments, home appliances etc… computer monitors, mother boards, cathode ray tube [CRT], printed circuit board [PCB] mobile phone chargers, compact disks [CD] head phones, LCD/Plasma TV, A.C., Refrigerator etc. Comes in e-wastes.

How much waste?

In 2016 throughout world there is 4.47 crores of tons of e-waste are recognized. In another survey it is estimated to reach 5.22 crores tons by 2021.

Jeopardy to health

E-wastes contains mercury and other poisonous chemicals. It may become peril to public health. Staying close to these wastes because many health disorders, like veins problems, blood related disorders, kidneys, brain diseases, lungs, skin, bronchitis, lung cancer, heart diseases and liver disorders.

Only 20% of the e-wastes have been eradicated and recycling scientifically. There is an estimation that e-wastes may reach up to 4.75 corers tons by 2018 worldwide.

When take country wide account major e-wastes are coming from Maharashtra. The value of this wastes is costs a good fortune. The value of waste gathered in 2016 is 61.05 billion dollars. It is a lot more than GDP of many countries.

In our country there is not a correct way to destroy the wastes. We are get ridding them unscientifically. Statistics clarified that only 5% of waste have been eradicated by scientific methods. E-wastes are majorly coming from unauthorized institutions. So scrape dealers gather them as dump and collect the require parts from that and dumping the remaining in dump yards. As a result arising many environmental and public health risks.
